CPAO will be hosting it's Quarterly Board and General Membership Meeting and Training on August 19th at the Phoenix Inn in Albany from 10am to 4pm. Oregon Peace Officers Association presents "Technical Investigative Techniques". The purpose of this course is to provide investigators with an overview of the surveillance equipment and technical investigative techniques available to enhance criminal investigations. This course will include audio/video surveillance, GPS tracking, and working with telecommunication providers. Each topic will include legal considerations with a review of statutory authority as well as installation and deployment of surveillance devices. Included will be practical demonstrations and hands on exercises.
The Fairview Police Department has honored Officer Neel O'Donnell, Crime Prevention Coordinator, as the 2008 Officer of the Year.
O'Donnell was chose because he "made a significant impact in the area of drug and crime prevention throughhis hard work with community events partnerships."
Although the CPAO 31st Annual Conference "An Ounce of Prevention Is Worth ...?" has been cancelled, CPAO is still seeking nominations for induviduals, community groups, volunteers, businesses, media and/or non-profit orginazations that are deserving of public recognition for their respective achievements in the area of crime prevention and public safety.
CPAO is seeking your help in sending us nominations from across the State. Someone in your department, work group, county or agency has done extraordinary crime prevention work and deserves special recognition.
